ORTIGNI
An Ortigni shoe is born from a shape that takes shape thanks to the creative minds of our company. In the first phase, together with the stylist, we carry out an accurate research of the leather, the best materials and the style to be attributed to the shoe. It is our care to ensure that all the shoes are at the same time unique, trendy and with classic features for an excellent creation. We dedicate a lot of our time to research, especially at the beginning of the Autumn Winter and Spring Summer seasons.
We then move on to the sampling phase, in which the model maker reproduces the shoe designed on the paper pattern, thus creating the first prototype that represents the springboard from which to start. It is in this moment in fact that we develop different ideas, we compare and continue to create other prototypes until we reach the most convincing one. After the last comparison between the stylist, the company owners and the showroom assistant, we choose what will be the line of shoes suitable for the new season.
All the shoes are made with the best artisan techniques such as the «Blake», which takes its name from the machine that sews on the leather, the «Bolognese», the «Blake Rapid», the most prestigious «Goodyear», of the English brushed moccasin shoes, and the «Norvegese». High quality, grace in the aesthetics and softness of the fit are some of the musts that Ortigni cannot do without.
As for the raw materials, we select all the materials extremely carefully, to guarantee the resistance and the comfortable wearability of each pair. For the upper we use leather, suede and precious materials such as crocodile, stingray, iguana and ostrich leather. For some models we also choose different fabrics, for example wool to match with leather, to make the fit even more pleasant.
The bottom of the shoe can always be made with leather, but also with rubber. For example, we have designed some soles with innovative technical materials with a three-layer bottom. Particularly resistant, this sole is composed of a central microporous body and two thinner rubbers, at the shoe's drawing and at the base. This composition ensures that the sole does not wear out over time. As for the shape, this changes depending on whether it is a classic or sports shoe, so you can build a tank sole or a para bottom, like that of the clark model.
